Don't be fooled by the book, horse-lovers, I think the movie very accurately presented a picture of how extremely harsh and devastating such a trip would be to a horse and its health. I do not take pills from a doctor because they all have poison in them.. The backmatter alone gets it an extra star.. Thank you. We especially need to know this story together, and "Medic!" provides a powerful vehicle for the most important of intergenerational conversations.
This is not light reading; it is important reading about some of the deepest --both hardest and best -- of human experiences. I have often trawled this book for best practices from time to time and without fail, I have found often new insight and ideas each time I flipped through it.
