I will then touch on the two main negative points, and close by explaining the context of my review.
PROS:
On the positive side, the chapters all begin and end with excellent case studies. Since I have read it, I have been trying the step by step approaches and am fascinated by all that I am learning. The reason I mention this is to point out that their book, with 55 8 1/2 X 11 inch plates in it, illustrating 50 plants, could be viewed as a bargain.
I only have a couple of issues with the book, and those I have shared with Dina. It then moves towards the telling of his growing up experiences in Manila where the family was forced to move because of the war; then, his years in the US in the pursuit of education; and, the years after living… with his wife and grandchildren.
The author’s social standing is, undeniably not that of an average, middle class citizen who toils endlessly…. Abbie is currently my favorite author, her books
