Aquinas's discussions of moral issues are extensive, and range well beyond the narrowly defined set of issues in the modern tradition of moral philosophy. This volume explores the ethical dimensions of a wide selection of philosophical and theological topics in Aquinas's texts. It covers topics central to ethics, such as happiness, moral virtue, and natural law, as well as related topics pertaining to the metaphysical basis of Aquinas's account of goodness, the ramifications of his ethical concerns for his philosophy of language, and the significance of his philosophical psychology for his ethics. The volume is divided into three sections focusing, respectively, on issues concerning moral theory and moral theology, moral psychology and practical reason, and moral theory in philosophy of language and metaphysics. The authorsdistinguished scholars of medieval philosophybring to these issues a variety of approaches and viewpoints. By creatively sampling the breadth of Aquinas's reflections
Editorial : "The book is historically and philosophically solid and intellectually stimulating. It is an important work on Aquinas's moral thought."Simo Knuuttila, The Philosophical Review
"Although this anthology is entitled Aquinas's Moral Theory, the essays are topically broader in scope than moral philosophy as we frequently conceive it. You most definitely need to read this whole series.. A brilliantly written book with real life accounts of what its like to work as a paramedic. Surprisingly, she stumbles upon one of the little men and she and Gram tie him, neck high, in a potato sack. I was expecting to read more about the man, Miguel Perdomo Neira, rather than a plethora of medical bickering between the bourgeois community in Bogota. This is an awesome resource for anyone who wants to optimize their use of Pinterest. Fielding brings a small English town to life with careful observations and vivid descriptions. Horse shows, thieves, and daring escapades add to the suspense and action of this book. Well worth the cost.. I especially savored Rhys's bookish and hilariously bumbling presence. I have bought several editions of this book over the years, each edition just gets better and better! If you only own one book on natural healing, this should be it! I have read hundreds of health related books, and this is the BEST
