When Sundancer arrives at Saddle Creek Farm, Bird is fascinated. The horse is suspicious and guarded, touchy and cruel. He is a challenge: a wounded horse with a story he’s not ready to share. Will Bird be able to reach him before it’s too late? And will this strange and difficult horse be able to help Bird when her mother pays an unexpected visit?

Every mom needs this coloring book. In the first group of problems awaiting the fix, artful procrastition results in 1) having more time to accumulate more information, which results in better solutions, and 2) many problems that fix themselves quite successfully. My parents' names appear as the reviewers when their youngest daughter has written this review. :) I wish I could send the chapter about Instagramming the ring to everyone on my feed. Starting from Bill and Jackson's second gambling adventure and running through their first meeting with the primary antagonist (whose identity is one of the best surprises of the novel), the story rarely slows down and is jam-packed with action and excitement. I’d rather discuss the effect of the plot, the characterization, the pacing—all the good and necessary stuff that goes into making a novel memorable, or not.
