Praise for previous volumes:"This variorum edition will be the basis of all future Donne scholarship." ChroniqueThis is the 4th volume of The Variorum Edition of the Poetry of John Donne to appear. This volume presents a newly edited critical text of the Holy Sonnets and a comprehensive digest of the critical-scholarly commentary on them from Donne’s time through 1995. The editors identify and print both an earlier and a revised authorial sequence of sonnets, as well as presenting the scribal collectionwhich contains unique authorial versions of several of the sonnetsinscribed by Donne’s friend Rowland Woodward in the Westmoreland manuscript.

I found it an enjoyable read and a worthwhile effort by the author.. Books on the technicalities of fertility treatments are a dime a dozen, but books offering emotional support are harder to find.

I didn't read all of the stories, only the ones I related to personally (probably about 7 out of 20+). In clean anger we allow for and show our vulnerability - or something close to it. A man's "belt buckle [was] recently let out a couple of notches so that the old half-circle hoofprints showed." The passengers on a bus are referred to as "Jonahs." Sayles, after a sleepless night, believes that "the lightout there somewhere in the night [is] feeling its way blindly toward him." Even small details, such as the books Jimmie reads and the TV programs which Christian sees and remembers reflect the themes and states of mind, adding to the novel's strength. That realization makes any anti-technology screed seem all the more futile. This collector's edition is hardcover. Nice photos, tex
